    And my hat is off to the State Department of Natural Resources for standing firm in refusing to change the fishing opener away from Mothers Day weekend. The womenfolk just got to get used to the fact we are fishing on the weekend and that's all there is to it. We'll pick them up something in the bait store on the way home Sunday night from the lakes.

    And to those schools in northern Minnesota that are actually closed on Monday due to opening deer hunting weekend...a salute to you. It's family tradition for a young man to be out with his dad, grandfather and uncles hunting deer on the opener.

  5. I didn't know the answer to the first question about the Super Bowl. Then again, I'm a Cleveland Brown's fan so.... (Haven't paid attention to footbal for 20 years!)
