Found a very nice used S&W Model 10-5, it has the unusual 5" barrel and it is nickle plated. The revolver has a few usage bumps but is very tight and displays no wear issues. There is no leading or fouling in the bore and the cylinder has no carbon or burn residue on it. It is engraved
" Wayne County" and an inventory # that is four digits. These are supposed to have come from Wayne County, Michigan...perhaps issued to Prison personnel, or Sheriff's Deputy's...who ever it was issued to it was not used too often....Did some research on the serial # in my Standard Catalog of S&W and it says it was made in 1977...

Just waiting for my Tyler-T-Grip to arrive, I want a retro-looking .38Spl, and I think this is it. Once the Tyler-T-Grip is installed it'll be a trip back in time...When I went to the Sheriff's Academy I borrowed my best friend's S&W M13, it too had the Tyler-T-Grip...that was 1982. I have put Hogue, Sile, Pachmayr, etc. I still like what I learned with, the back of the grip-frame in the palm of the hand and a decent reach to the trigger...I bought some Altamont grips for the K-frame square and they look fantastic...just hope the Tyler-T-Grip gets here soon....
