I finally got to go out and Shoot my MN Pistol with the new cylinder.[.32acp]
It was kinda weird, not much recoil at all but it "torqued" when fired.
I guess since the bullet is traveling so fast by the time it leaves the long cylinder and engages the rifleing in the barrel it seemed to want to make the gun twist just a little
You can feel it when you fire it
Kinda weird but then the whole dang gun is kinda weird.
It groups real well when I do the work.
I like it a lot better now that I can shoot it cheaply.
I enjoy haveing the weapons of our former enemys around just for my entertainment

Pardon my being anal, but Mr. Mosin had nothing to do with the revolver - it's the Nagant revolver. That being said, good going! I've been wanting one of these little beauties for awhile. Anyone who has shot the Colt .45 knows about the torque effect. I'm surprised it would be that noticable in the smaller caliber, too.

OK you are right it is called a Nagant revolver I knew that, I am just used to putting Mosin in front of Nagant

One thing I've wondered about, is shooting the larger .32 bullets in a supposedly .30 cal bore. Anybody know the true bore size of these things? If the bullet is getting swaged a bit, maybe that's why they shoot so well.
I read that they have a gas seal type of action, with the cylinder seating against the barrel. No gas leakage like our revolvers, more efficient!

yep
they do have a gas seal when useing the original ammunition
Which has a expanding flange at the very front of the brass
The bullet is seated all the way inside the case.
With the .32acp cylinder there is no flange so no seal but it is still pretty cool.

I believe bullet diameter is identical[within 1 to 2 thousanths]

The bullet diameter for the Nagant is .312, so it's close enough. The seal was to gain an extra 150 fps out of the cartridge. The Nagant is one of 3 revolver designs that could make effective use of a silencer, too.

The Belgium brothers, Emil & Leon Nagant, cooperated with the Russian S.I Mosin to design and produce the Mosin-Nagant Model 1891 rifle, and they went on to design this revolver which was adopted by the Imperial Russian Army in 1895.
( easy to confuse the association)

The silencer issue Calvin speaks of is due to the cartrige design and the cylinder design that "pressed the cylinder home" to create a tight gas seal, then withdrew it slightly to rotat for the next round.

There were 2 versions SA for soldiers & Non-Coms; DA for officers.
