I've handled it in stores. Basically it's an ATR with new stock styles, open site options, and a detachable magazine.

i am not familiar with the ATR. Does the wood look like cheap plastic? Is it junk or a good first gun?

They don't have wood stocks on the ATR-100's, only plastic. They have one that looks like wood, sort of, of you close one eye and poke the other one with your finger so it waters real good.:p In all honesty, I know a couple of guys who have them and they really like them. I plan on getting a 4x4 in the near future. Here's a link:

The ATR is available in real wood in the short action .243 or .308 configuration. I bought my .308 back around March. The 4X4 is available in wood also I believe in most if not all calibers.
