Need Some Holster Ideas

Since I have a new carry gun, I need a holster for it! It's a Springfield XDS-9 Mod 2, and I have a cheap De Santis IWB holster right now. I like that it has a j-clip and a suede body. However, it is not the most comfortable thing. I am thinking I'll get another hybrid holster, but I have been curious about getting a belly band to try. So far, I have looked into Alien Gear and CrossBreed. Alien Gear costs about half the price of CrossBreed, and I have had a few in the past. I saw CrossBreed has a velcro belt clip that sticks to velcro on the backside of a belt. I like that this would make the holster 100% concealed while having my shirt tucked in.

Anyways, I'm looking for some input and maybe some other options. I would love to hear about anybody's experience with a belly band, too.

I also need help picking a dual mag carrier. I hate Alien Gear's system, but CrossBreed's hybrid style looks like a winner. Again, velcro clips are available. What does the Band of Fellers like?

I like the Crossbreed holsters. They are in my opinion a better design. When I carry a 10MM, I also were suspenders. The big handguns can pull your Wranglers down.

AustinJoe13, did you ever come up with a solution for a suitable holster and mag carrier? I am very curious what you decided on since this is an older 2019 thread.

I too have the XDS-9 Mod 2 package and it came with a Springfield IWB holster that I find very comfortable. I also got the dual mag holder that I have not used nor have I adjusted the tension screw to smooth out mag removal.

I did buy a leather IWB holster for the SAR9T I recently bought and it will also hold the XDS snugly when I tighten the retention screw a couple of turns - didn't take much. The company does make a compact holster if desired.

As for outside OWB holsters, I bought the Cytac SG-XDSG3 (google to see photos)
https://www.amazon.com/CYTAC-Springfield-SubCompact-R-Defender-CY-XD40G3/dp/B0896W8N9K with seven mounting options: Paddle, belt loop, belt clip, MOLLE, drop leg platform, double shoulder harness or single shoulder harness is optional. I have the Paddle and it is very comfortable, absolutely smooth as glass function, index finger tab flawless and works like a charm. Daughter was also impressed with it. Got mine through Amazon.

For a dual mag carrier, I like the Fobus.

I can’t believe I forgot to update this thread. I ended up getting Crossbreed’s appendix carry holster, along with a tuckable mag carrier and their Gideon pocket mag carrier. I ended up selling the gun a few months later to buy a S&W K-Comp.

Austinjoe13, you should have given the XDS to your better half. You owe her big time for putting up with you. Now that you have the S&W, do you miss the XDS???

I don’t miss it, actually. Its profile wasn’t much smaller than my G19, but it was thinner. It definitely shot well. No, I should have bought a P365 instead of the XDs.

Brick...all I'm sayin' ;)
It is a thinner brick and weighs only half as much as a 1911. And it is .3 inch thinner. The 1911 is a brick and the G48 is a half brick and carries more ammo..

It is more like the small Springfield EMP except it has a half inch longer Barrel and the EMP weighs 6 ounces more. So that 1911 EMP 9mm is more like a bricK. They are the same height and width. No I do not have one, not my style, just saying.
