The latest American Rifleman has a review on Armalite's AR-180, just reintroduced. It's got a few refinements over the original: AR-15 mags and similar sights, etc. The stock doesn't fold, due to post-ban considerations, but it uses the original tappet style gas system and bolt/recoil system. The bolt is nearly identical with my Bushpup, and I have found this an excellent system. The price is quoted at $650. Not bad. This gives us an alternative to the usual AR-clones.
A lot of writers have opined that if it weren't for certain political considerations, we would have had the AR-18 in service instead of the M-16.

I have a DAEWOO DR200 on layaway, and I think it is a fine alternative to the AR-15. I would like to check out the 180 when they become available. Wouldn't mind picking up a Leader either. I seem to be building up a collection of gas piston .223 rifles.
