Welcome to G&G from the high desert in Southwest Idaho. I too like my air rifles in .177 & .22 Cal and like many here I've shot my fair share of them. I actually have a daisy model 881 variable power pump lever action that I've been dragging around for probably 20 some years , unfortunately even at 25 ft I can't keep it on a pie pan anymore but I can't talk myself into getting rid of it so it's still setting here. Lately I've been looking into some of the new Nitro piston powered air rifles that are essentially the new version break barrel designs. Instead of being spring-powered which is Harsh on recoil not to mention Barrel harmonics, when you cock a break barrel Nitro piston air rifle you're compressing a little nitrogen strut that for all intents and purposes is very similar to the struts on the hoods or hatchbacks of vehicles to hold them open when you raise them. When you squeeze the trigger it releases the strut that's compressed which pushes a piston which pushes the are and the poet down the barrel I'm assuming real similar to the way a piston system works in an SKS or AK or at least that's the way I understand it anyway. I can tell you they're really accurate, surprisingly accurate actually if you get a good one and take the time to dial it in and a lot of fun as well. I have one of the $80 Crossman F4 NP2's with a CVLife 3_9x40 on it and although it's got a somewhat crappy but consistent trigger the silly thing shoots better than I can

Welcome to G 'n' G from Eastern Nebraska. I only have one air gun, a Sig P226 CO2 pellet pistol. It works just well enough to keep the varmints under control in the back yard. I hope you find as much enjoyment on this forum as the rest of us.
