I knew they existed, built over 50 years ago I think in Canada.
Well the Snowdog is back and is a unique twist of a old idea of Bolens Hus-ski and Diablo Rouge.
A single track motive unit with a low ground pressure that can be used year round.
No flat tires, the smaller model is transportable in the back of a smaller SUV.
Its small enough to not need to be licensed
Like a atv, utv or snowmobile would, it fits a small niche that is really thought provoking.

Its kinda a neat idea when you figure this 4 cycle engined jobby can haul wood, traverse soft ground and is good on certain types of snow.
It costs around $2500 to $3800, easily loads in a truck, and looks like itd be a good choice for short trecks at speeds of 20mph for ice fishing and checking traps.

There is a canadian made battery driven track unit mfg by Yvon Martel MTT-136

    Thanks for posting this.
I have sent this video to my Finnish buddy.
    Now he wants one.

I bet he has a better chance of getting one in Finnland than I do in Alaska.
With a old snowmobile track & jackshaft and undercarrage and a honda 10hp engine and a go-cart clutch could be the makings of a shop-built one.

This looks like a ski-less Ski-Doo Elan that you cant sit on.
And the Snowdog has a heated grip option.

Even with all the whistles and bells Its a cheaper alternative to a Polaris Rampage tracked atv.

That is an interesting concept. I can see uses for that machine in the field for the line of work I used to do. I'm gonna pass this on to my former partners.

Lots of dealers in Alberta, Minnesota, Cheeseland & Iowa.
From what I have read so far. It sounds like they are made in Russia.

  7. Neat little machine! I can see quite a few uses here in my area since it's good for mud, too.

very cool!!!I can see uses for such a machine even down here. it would be even better if it floated. I might have to try to make something similar but use a small aluminum Jon boat for a body.

One of the things Id noticed over the years flying in and out of OTZ is the tundra is all scarred up from ATV's chewing their way across the tundra.
This looks like itd work great for spring waterfowl hunting.

This vid the sales guy comments on controls, gas milage and weight of tbe machine, and the benefits of buying the larger machine with the 14hp motor and getting reverse option.

I found the Finnish dealership when I was checking out US dealers.
I thought about possibly getting loaded on as air freight on a Alaska Air flight in one those rustbelt cities.

The Russian Baltmotors video shows a little more variation and you can see some of its construction details better.

Another Russian brand of the same type of machine.
