I recently shot a custom 10/22...barrel, stock, trigger, scope & whatever else can be changed. Total damages were about $1500. Now, I ask...WHY?
Wasn't the original purpose of shooting a 22lr to have an inexpensive gun that offered ALOT of kicks n' giggles? Doesn't the $1500 kill that?

Okay let's see...I could buy an AR-15 rifle, a Marlin 60SS and an 870 shotgun for $1500...but they probably didn't pay for it all at once...If he had $100 or $200 and nothing better to do with it...

if this pertained to cars we'd all be driving Escorts and Caviliers.

Give me a break, you don't have to spend THAT much to have a tack driving 10/22. With cost of gun and a whole total of $500 together you can have a awesome 10/22. Just make sure you get stainless or its not worth it!

I have kept my 10/22 stock except for the scope I mounted to it & have a blast. For the $1000+ difference in price, I'll buy something else ;)
    By the way, I drive 2 Bimmers, a 540 & a M Roadster :jet:

After shooting that custom 10/22, I have started debating a couple of the mod on that gun...specifically the barrel & stock. I'm guess less than $300 to get me there.

the value is in the eye of the beholder. with the exception of the gun absolutely needing a trigger job it doesnt need anything else. with that being said mines got the power custom titanium action parts, magnum research muzzle braked carbon fiber barrel, bell&carlson br-50 stock glass bedded. had a simmons 44mag 6.5-20 scope (till it broke)still havent found replacement. its all about having fun and enjoying your gun- if it comes down to it i can do whatever i need with a single shot 22, but how much fun is that.:assult:
