Welcome to the Forum from the Peoples Democratic Republic of New York. Always remember, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. We have lots of folk in the Band of Fellers (you'll learn the lore after you've been around awhile), myself included, who got started here because they had firearms questions.

In my case, it was trying to figure out if a Llama IX-A in .45 ACP, which was made by a Spanish gunmaker now out of business, was a bargain. (FYI, it's about 95% US GI compatible; the major differences are in the internals of the trigger group.) I timidly asked the members of the Forum if buying it would be a good idea, given that Llama was out of business. I was assured it's basically a M1911 with a Spanish accent, and to grab it before the gun shop owner sobered up. He was willing to deal because it had been in his used pistol case for a year; seemed the locals had a problem with a two-tone .45! I bought it, and half a dozen US GI magazines still in their original packaging, and think I got a really great deal.

I've been here ever since. We value everyone who comes here looking for knowledge and willing to impart their own.
