    Hi All,
Just retuned from a small gun show in this area. Guy had a Norico SKS it says "Made in China by Norinco KSI Pomona Ca" on it. This an early import? All matching numbers including stock. Very nice bore and bluing, over all in excellent condition. Missing cleaning rod and sling. Just couldn't pass it up for $145.
Just curious how I did on the deal too?

Sounds like a darn good deal to me. I'd expect that to go for about $200.

Sounds like a very good deal Cleaning Rod is like $7.00 and a sling is about the same from Cheaper than dirt.

Very good deal. Does it still have the cleaning kit in the buttstock? Also, is the barrel pinned or threaded?

The barrel is threaded and it has the cleaning kit in the stock. There is an aftermarket rubber shoulder pad added to the butt says, D.C.ENG. DET. MI. held on by the 2 screws and the original metal butt plate is still on the gun as well.
I am not real familiar with the SKS's was hoping I stumbled across a good one.

It sounds simiar to the Chi-Com Factory 26 that I had. Mine was a fiberglass stocked model and in the two years that I had it, I never had a FTF\FTE, it was easy to clean, and would shoot MOA with almost any ammo. I hope you fare as well as me, I still hate myself for trading it!

That is a steal at $140, depending on a lot of variables. Norinco makes a great SKS. Did it have a 20 round fixed mag?

Yep, a very good deal, compared to prices around here. They go for $250 in the gunshops, IF you can find one!

A Norinco SKS is becoming almost priceless these days. I've found them to be super reliable, accurate, and durable. I wish I could find another one for under $200 and give my current Norinco a friend. I paid $150 for my first Norinco with 200+ rounds of ammo and a couple of detachable mags (which don't work very well, I stick to the 10-round fixed mag)...but I know I'm not going to find another deal like that.

I haven't loaded it yet as I want to clean all the grease out of it, but would guess it's a 10 Rd mag.

The reason I asked is that the 20 round fixed magazine is worth over $100 itself and they were only made by Norinco for a select number of rifles. I saw a Norinco here in town for about $300 and it was rough.

Wow $100! A 20 Rd Mag installed at the factory would be great but think mines a 10.
I know they make detachable mags for it, but I want to keep it completely original.

thats a good idea. detach mags have a terrible reputaion and they deserve it!
i have never in my life seen one that was dependable.
i am sure one exists somewhere but not in my world

Thanks everyone for all the info, very much appreciated.
Just a little follow up, disassembled the gun and cleaned the remaining cosmoline, etc., out. Shows very little wear on the bluing where the bolt travels don't think it has seen much use.
Hopefully will get to do a little shooting with it in the next few days.
    Thanks again.
