I was just curious as to how many rounds I could get out of a 25 pound back of lead shot...my loads would be 1 1/8 and would be using 8 1/2 to 9 shot.

    Here's how the math breaks down: 1 divided by 8 = .125 +1 = 1.125 ie: 1 1\8 oz of shot. 1 lb of shot = 16 oz. divided by 1.125=14.222 x 25 lbs. =355.555 rds.

Eeyup that's about it 355 loads @ 1 1/8oz per. So I cut back to 1oz loads and get 45 more per 25# bag of shot.

Well duh!!! Had I really put my thinking cap on...I didn't even think of that. 1 1/8 oz goes into 25 lbs how many times...! Yeah, thanks everyone. Now I jsut need to find the shot, or more accurately, find the money for the shot. I have found places online that will sell it for $50 for two 25 lb bags and then $12 shipping. A local place here has a 25 lb bag for $59...talk about a ripoff!

I bought my last shot from Gamaliels for $25.00 a bag x 2 + $12.00 shipping for $62.00. They ship in a Postal flat rate box and 50# of shot really doesn't take up that much space.
