Obama and CYA

    In yet another "what was said isn't what we meant", Sen. Obama defends his wife's statement about her pride in America. While I normally agree that a candidate's spouse is and should be somewhat "off-limits" as long as they are not in active participation, when they do choose to involve themselves, what they do and say is fair game.
    Just as with her husband's "57 state" comment or the "clinging to guns" statement drew fire, Mrs. Obama's comment should be available for dispute and her husband's veiled threat seen as either his refusal or her inability to either explain herself or stand by her words.
    Yes, she explained when it happened, but one of the ways you trip a liar up is to ask the same question repeatedly and see if the answer changes.
