Need any info on a S&W Model 1000 .12 gauge. Has a 28" vent rib barrel and 20" slug barrel. This shotgun has been sitting in a closet for 20? years. I have to count on you for knowledge. Please help.

So what do ya need to know? Clean it, shoot it, have fun with it! Good gun, I prefer Mossbergs, but to each his own!

  3. It's a great discontinued shotgun. Keep it, shoot it, love it. They were only made for a few years. It should have collector value, depending on condition.

Thanks, panhandler. I was interested in the years it was manufactured, stripping and cleaning or really anything I could learn. Maybe I should get in touch with the people at S&W for more info.
  5. I think they made them in the early '80s, possibly, very late '70s. Can give no help as to when they were discontinued. It looked alot like the Remington 1100.

    Happy shooting!

The SW 1000 was discontinued in 1984. Oh I didn't see that Dana already answered that. I got my info out of the Book of Modern Gun Values.
