Does anyone know where there is a good pic comparing the different types of op rods.Curved, straight, slant, etc. The one in Duff's book just doesn't make it clear to me.

The top is flat sided, the middle is round or curved side and the bottom is slant sided. Hope this helps George. Rick B

Thanks that is a Navy stock that the NFR was barley there when I got it. You had to almost imagine it because it was so faint. I had a good time looking for a matching set of guards.

Dang Stocker Doctor, ya made me get mine out and look.

SO I have the first one. What's the big deal?

I thought only the NM mattered :)

Flat side is later at the end of WWII and through the rest of the Garands history. The slant on bottom was first used on Gas Trap era rifles and on most WRA's and the round is in the middle. Uncut is always best also. Rick B
