Does anybody know the value of a Remington P-17 bayonet? I aquired one recently which is still packed in cosomoline and all the blueing is like new on it. The leather sheath, although showing some age, is in excellent condition.

All the markings are American with the ordanance grenade and 1918 with a REMINGTON in a circle. the only other marking is a cartouche with the number 29 beside the ordanance grenade and a JWS 18 stamped on the leather scabbord.

The one's marked 1918 raise the price a little bit,it's believed that at the beginning of the year, someone changed the stamping to 1918,it's a MODEL 1917. It was later changed back. No one knows how many were stamped that way, enough to make them not THAT rare, but, a little. The #29 was the Inspector's mark. Don't know what company JWS would be.
