A while back I painted my stock. The black plastic got just way too hot in the sun. The tan paint cooled it off a bunch. I am getting a lil bored of it now so I decided to paint it again. I did a green base with brown over it. I'm also thinking about maybe tan base with brown over it. I just wanted to get some opinions. Thanx in advance for any opinions.

I root for the hawks a lil. Ray Emery played minor league hockey in my home town. Gotta support him! He was one of the best goalies we had come thru here. His only problem was his temper, got into a lot of fights.

I become a huge Islanders fan every time they play the Red Wings or the other New York team. If they are playing the Penguins, the Stars, or the 'Hawks, though my loyalty shifts.
Blackhawks have been my favorite team since the '90s, and they're probably the least violent thing in the city of Chicago.

I haven't been to Chit-cago since I was a kid, and all I remember is noise, smog, cold and rudeness. Oh, and ridiculously good food.

We lived closer to St. Louis than Chicago, so when we wanted to spend time in the "Big City" we went there.

I painted my Savage 116 .300 Win mag after I got it as I was not enamored with the plain black stock and stainless barrel. It turned out okay all things considered. I would point out that the paint will over time get scuffed and chipped here and there as it wears. I suggest that you get a can of quality "flat clear coat spray paint" and spray a coat or two over your paint job. This will help protect it and lessen it getting scuffed up or flaking. ;)

Vmajor, thanx. When I first painted it tan I didn't clear coat it. It def wore on the corners and sharp edges. That didn't bother me as long as the rifle stayed cool. Gave it a ill character too I guess. This time I finished it off with a rustoleum matte clear coat. I'm sure eventually down the road it will wear or scratch. That's ok, I won't mind painting it again. All part of the fun.
