Philadelphia City Council took a big step closer to a court fight with the state on gun control. The Council's Committee on Public Safety approved legislation to limit handgun purchases to one a month; require owners to report lost or stolen guns to police; allow police to confiscate guns from people considered a risk to themselves or others; require a license from police to bring a gun into the city; ban semiautomatic weapons with clips that hold more than 10 rounds; and establish a registry for ammunition sales. That legislation, introduced by Councilman Darrell Clarke, could be approved on Thursday.

Citizens of Philadelphia wake up. Contact your councilman and tell him to vote no on this legislation on gun control. If the councilman doesn't abide by his constituents wishes, vote him out at the end of his term. Elected officials are all supposed to be working for we the people. If not, vote them out. It's time the people take back control of our Government, from the City, County, State, and Federal. Good luck.

PA has preemption (thank God !). Most PA representatives (at least those with a R and not a D next to their name) are pretty sane and good regarding gun laws. PA has some of the best CCW laws in the country -- let's keep it that way. You and your friends vote out the B***ards who vote for more gun control drivel in this state !

And yes, Fast Eddie IMHO is an absolutely incompetent political thug who's hurting the state.
