If you could only have one big game caliber for all of N. America what would it be and why?
Ruger Super Blackhawk
Rattle'em up: Sir; Ruger Super Blackhawk. .44 with 250grn Keith type
Sir; with long gun I have reached out and touched. Not much incentive for me to learn something new.
Crawling sneaking hiding to with yards; what fun
For me; it isn't about the kill; it is all about my challenges
I go to the grocery store for food.:09:
.338 Winmag. Good for anything and everything in N. America
.30-06 will do anything you need it to do.
I actually deer hunted in California with a coworker that used a .44 Ruger Blackhawk. He jumped out of his vehicle with his .44 straped to his waist, and I ask him if he forgot his rifle? he told me that the Ruger straped to his side was all he needed. I never said another word about it.
22 lr j'k it would be a 375 H&H (that bear ain't gonna move when he sees that stuck up his rear end with safety off.)
Based on your other post the .270 you picked is probably as good as it gets for all around. Good choice.
Put me in for the 30-06, plus I already have one.
.300 Winchester Magnum...Hands down, Flat shooting, Many bullet choices on the Market, Plenty of power to kill a Buffalo, Grizzly or Big Moose or anything else !!!
It's what I use as My primary Hunting Rifle...
Lighter recoil than the larger Magnums...
Its what's for SHOOTIN' !
30-06 or .35 whelan
.338 Win Mag
Neophyte...Back that up with 21gr of win 296 and mag primer.....great load but dont use it in a Smith or Colt.
8mm Mauser, I like it!
Same here Mooseman.. I bought a 300 win. for elk and it became my main gun..I use it for almost everything.
From what I have seen from bears,he is going to move, and about 10 times as fast as you can. sam.
