I liked the quality feel of it and the way it felt in my hand. It seemed like the best deal, and I was dead tired of polymer pistols. I am very impressed not just with the quality of the pistol, but also of the packaging. The hard plastic case has a kind of art deco, 1930's feel to it and is really tastefully done, the paper contents of the package were well packed and didn't fall out when the case was opened. I got a copy of the test target (The pistol apparently has reasonable accuracy with Sellier and Bellot 9mm ball ammo), instruction manual and warranty cards, gun lock, a spare magazine and two cleaning rods. I really like the simplicity of this pistol and am hoping to get better results than the factory got with some different ammo, even though the factory results weren't all that bad.
