    I was wondering what kind (preferably unique) and amount of powder to use to reload .45 ACP with 240gr. hornaday XTP HP. in my dad's reloading book it lists info for 230gr. and 260gr. but not 240gr. here is what i saw in my dads speer reloading book
    using unique powder:
    for 230gr FMJ min load 5.5gr max load 6.5gr.
    for 230gr. Gold Dot HP. min 5.4gr max 6.0gr.
    for 260gr min 5.8gr max 6.3gr

    these (re)loads are going to be used in a Para Ordnance P14.

    Well, my basic engineering mindset would say find something in the range of all those loads, like 5.8gr-6.0gr. Probably 5.8, since it's the lowest.

    My book says 4.8 min to 5.4 max of unique gives a velocity of 760 fps pressure is at 19400 psi min oal is 1.210 . This load is for a 260 grain jacketed bullet. I hope this helps ya.
