I've mentioned this young lady here before. She is the daughter of my wife's best friend, and our unofficially adopted daughter, due to the bad situation she grew up in. For those of you who saw my thread back when my son got married, she was the dark haired girl in the green faerie outfit. She has CVS, which basically means that her body rejects food. Anything she eats, and most things she drinks, she ends up throwing up a short time later. She's been on a 'permanently' installed feeding port for quite a few years. I say 'permanent' because her body also doesn't like the feeding port, and she's had it surgically replaced about every 18 months. Unfortunately, they have told her that this is the last one they can install, due to scar tissue from the previous surgeries, and due to her condition - sepsis, malnutrition from the current port failing, and other things, they are giving her about a 5% chance of even surviving the surgery this time. If she doesn't have the surgery, she will certainly die anyway. She will leave behind a six-year-old son. He will have to go live with his father who is, frankly, a scumbag, which is why she had full custody. If that happens, her mother will likely never see her grandchild again, unless the courts get involved, which is not likely here. She really needs help from on high. Please.
