I loaded some 30.06 for my m1 and was checking the first few rounds for function. I noticed light strikes on the primers. Whats going on?

  2. It could be your spring in the trigger grouping.

No It is normal from the floating firing pin. When you work a round through the action it lightly taps the primer and a small indent is left. The primers are soft but need a hard compression to set off. All Garands do it so no worry as I also got worried when I seen this years ago. Rick B

  5. Charlie, I asked the same question. Its normal to a degree. Someone relpied to my post and hac a picture of dimpled primers. They look scary. # 2 rule , always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
