I’m torn on the scope issue. The running coyote and one rabbit that made it to the corn revealed the scope was pretty useless. I didn’t see a squirrel all day which it may have helped.

I missed a chance at a moving coyote this year because I couldn’t track him well/fast enough with my scope. If I’d had irons he would have been easy. I understand where you’re coming with moving targets and a scope.

I installed the Skinner peep barrel sight on my Henry pump .22 LR. I did remove the fine insert and am using it like a ghost ring. Really fast and accurate. I did try a scope on it but just didn't feel right and too slow for fast action. The ammo that works best for me is copper plated. The lead ones seemed to jam on the feed throat. Maybe a polish job on that would help. Happy shooting!

Jerry I'm thinking about something like this. There's a picatinny scope mount available for my Henry BB 41 magnum, but my little old pea brain is wondering if there's also a way to put this on a 22 Henry. Or does someone make a similar optic that fits the grooved receiver like on your Henry 22WMR and my Henry 22LR? I'm think with this 2.5 X magnification I might be able to follow and pop a running coyote or rabbit. And maybe with my 41 Mag I could zero it at 75 yards or something like that and hold dead on out to 100 yards or so. Similarly with the 22LR and some high velocity ammo perhaps a 50 yard zero and hold dead on out to 75 yards. Am I crazy, or is this maybe a legitimate idea. I like simple stuff.

I think that would be workable Rex

Here a small sampling.
