it finally arrived. came in Friday past, but owing to Mom's day and other stuff it waited for me over the weekend.
very nice, over all i would say its very good+ condition. the slide has some tiny blisters in the nickle in front of the gripping grooves and a slight nick right side of the ejection port...that was from me, in my haste to remove the tie strap from the barrel i used a kitchen knife.
it would not release the firing pin. so i removed the slide and looked over the situation. alot of old oil/grease and carbon build up. so using a pencil i worked the sear up and down. reassembled and the sear works now. i suspect that there is a build up of crud. a good cleaning and fresh lube should make it better.
i only can get my middle finger on the grip, so i guess i'll have to stack the other 2 fingers under the magazine, which by the way is a bear to remove.
Stop getting in a hurry. I've had lot's of unfortunate accidents by getting in a hurry. Remember, a gun is kind of like a cheeseburger, you'll enjoy it more if you go at it slowly and take your time with it.
I'm not normally critical of any gun. My BIL had one in 380 we went to shoot it with factory ammo. The slide broke. Kind of scared us both a bit. I'm still not convinced they are the most horrid thing on earth. I think the critical thing on them is round count. We didn't know how many it had through it. I think if it's kept to a low round count it would help.
It does sond like a nice looking piece, enjoy Pappa G
Ravens were made only in .25acp Jerry.
reliability is not an issue since i got it for fun and fudging around with Blaster.
the safety works, i commune with folks that do carry them on occasion, they carry empty chamber, rack when in need, big shrek.
as i have learned from BJJ, no matter what the caliber or maker of zamak guns; is the importance of inspecting them. remove the slide, and carefully inspect the slide and frame for cracks before shooting. which IMHO is not a bad idea for any semi-auto.
Somebody needs to make a quality .25 automatic. Not for any particular reason, mind you, they just should. They've always been around, I think it might be for a reason. Perhaps the earth might get invaded by zombie amoebas or something. Then we'd need em' fer shore!
i cleaned it up, took it all apart except for the trigger, extractor and heel catch. soaked the parts in very hot water and BOSS cleaner, scrubbed with tooth brush, rinsed in "very" hot water, after dry i hosed it good with WD-40 and reassembled. the sticky sear is no longer an issue now.
i am amazed at the ease of disassembly.minus the grips and their screws, and the magazine, it only has 30 parts!!! utter simplicity
