Remington 700 Scope Base

    I am about to lose my mind. I know from memory that the 700 uses a Weaver #36 and #37 scope base. I'm mounting a scope for a guy on a Rem 783 (nice gun by the way). For some reason it uses two of the Rem 700 front bases!

    After hours of research I've turned up NOTHING! Which is the front base? The #36 or #37?

    Please save what is left of my mind!

    PS: if i need to be banned from the site for utter stupidity for some length of time, I completely understand!

    Buddy, if fergetttin'. Such a small detail like that was grounds for a banishment, Chris would be the only person here!

    Lemme check the weaver website and see what they say...

    Spooker, its actually #35 for the front mount according to Weaver application charts. 35 in front and 36 to the rear.
