i have a 7mmmag remington, bdl is it a recall gun circa 1986
If it is a model 700 which it probably is only rifles made prior to 1982 are being recalled. You can tell by the serial number. If your serial number has an "A" or a "B" prefix or no prefix at all then it is on recall. This sight will explain to you all the bolt actions on recall.
Here is another source for checking on recalls, the recent "Safety Modification Program" is not listed as this program is vaulintary.

BEST WAY TO TELL IF YOUR GUN NEEDS TO GO BACK IS IF YOU CAN NOT OPEN THE BOLT WITH THE SAFTY ON RETURN FOR MODIFICATION.
