Nice typewriters! I learned to type on a Remington office model with the black crackle finish that had the disconcerting habit of occasionally double-spacing when you hit the spacebar. But it had a really light touch and I liked it a great deal.

If it didn't vanish in the G&G Hack of 2016, there is an article I posted on how we made trouble for ourselves in World War II by converting too many of the typewriter manufacturers to making M-1 Carbines instead of typewriters. It's somewhere in "General Military," but I can't get to it; the site is acting up and will not let me go anywhere but Page 1 of any thread I click onto.
