Is the Model SPS made for Remington by some other company? If so, whom? Can anyone offer any opinion on this model? Cheers..

Nope its American and a 700. It's practically the replacement for the ADL model. Form all reports its a great rifle for a man on a budget...it's a 700 after all :D
You might be thinking about the Spartan models, single shot rifles. They are made I believe in Russia.

Well, the new 799 and .. um the other one, are Zastava`s made in Serbia, as there were when Ol` Charlie Daly sold them. The only reason I asked, was I have seen pictures of the stainless SPS in advertisments, but I saw a pic of the blued version ( the one I`d get, if I do ) and whoa, musta been a bad pic cuase it looked a bit, I dunno agricultural. I should reserve judgement till I hold one. Thanks, Myamor. OOoh, if replaces the ADL, does it have a blind magazine? ie: no trap door floor plate, shells go in the top, come out the top?? That wouldnt concern me either tbh..

Ahh yes the 799, 798 and I believe the Model 5 rimfire. You are right on about those, and it was shocking news to say the least when Remington went over CD and got the rights from the Serb's.
Here's the links to those:

Anyway to the SPS:
