I found a rifle I might be interested in:

    It's marked as a "Remington"

    AR10 7.62 NATO
    Bi-pod
Red dot scope (Not thrilled with that).
22" free-float, half fluted heavy barrel.
    Camo finish.

$1600 brand new. Keep in mind I live in the PRK (More $$$).

Sorry, I didn't have a camera with me so no pics.

Can you get more info, or picture? The Remington ARs that I have encountered are designated as R-25 and the AR-10 is the designation that Armalite uses for their 308 rifle as far as I know.

My only problem with them is the cost of mags. Otherwise, I'd love to have one but the M-14 has to suffice for me. I can't afford anything new right now.

Would take a M-14, over Remington ANY DAY!

I know some one who has the Remington .223.
And is very unhappy with it.

You are correct, it is an R25, uses DPMS magazines.

    Think it's worth the price?

Take the mags. out of the worry and I say Oh Yea!

    I still like the m-14 in a .308 platform. I guess it's familiarity.

Just my opinion, but I would get the DPMS for a few hundred dollars less and never miss the camo finish. I'm personally not a fan of camo finishes on firearms, and if I was intent on dropping that many dollars on a AR in 308 I think I would buy an Armalite. (of course I don't know how much the Ca. premium ups the prices either)

If the rifle is DPMS marked it (I think that was stated earlier in this thread)will fit it. those mags fit in a Panther LR308 I saw at a show.

Was that in a local gun shop, or on the internet?

I suggest you check with a local dealer to see if it is legal to own in commiefornia. Last time I checked, AR style rifles are NOT legal in commiefornia, unless they have the new style 10 round mag that can not be dropped out with a mag catch release button.

Yes it was a local store and AR style rifles are legal here provided:

They are a "featureless build". In which case you can use any magazine including hi-caps without the use of a bullet button.
    or
They are legal as long as you have a bullet button, you are then only allowed a ten round magazine, no hi-caps. A "bullet button" is a device that requires some kind of tool to release the magazine, (Bullet, screwdriver, etc.) that inserts and releases the magazine. When you purchase the BB, it can (with a couple of turns of a screwdriver) be used as a normal magazine release. You also get the original mag release with the rifle.

    Ahhh. Good info.

In that case, you would probably be getting a fair deal, since it is NIB, and has a bipod and optic.

A new Armalite AR 10 runs $1500, with no extras.

Since it is a Remington, I would get it.

I LOVE shooting my AR 10s!
