If it's as good as the Rossi R92 in 357 that I bought recently I think you'll like it. As you noted on the trigger, it is quite good for an inexpensive gun... Are you going to scope it?

Nice lookin' rifle! Have always admired those lever guns in 45-70!

I have one just like it and am really happy with it. For an inexpensive gun it sure surprised me. Mine still has the rail that came with it and I scoped it. I am thinking about removing the scope though and either keeping the factory sights or putting on a ghost ring. I am also going to send off the lever to mule man and have him make the loop smaller. That is the one thing I can't warm up to on the rifle.

I have that rifle. I took it to the range about two weeks ago and my brother in law couldn't handle the recoil - he gave up after two rounds. I shoot a sweet three shot group with the rounds he didn't use. By the way, he is an Army vet and I am a Navy vet. Who's the sissy?
