My shooting buddy has the Stainless 4" .357Magnum, and it's worked very well for several years. It's no Smith, but it's a very good serviceable weapon. Rossi is now owned by Taurus, also a good gun.

I was going to say the same as Big Dog. Rossi had a mediocre reputation up until Taurus bought them. Most recent Rossis will have the Taurus logo on them. I have heard a lot of good about Rossi since the Taurus buy out and quality improvements. I have been eyeballing a Rossi at the local range.

A friend of mine has a .308 Rossi, and likes it pretty well. He says the only downside is the fact that it is single shot. I believe that all Rossi rifles are single-shot break-actions, but if you're not going to use it for anything that requires rapid fire, then it should be fine.

I owned a Rossi 38Spl. R35102 2". It's an OK gun for the price. A little heavy at 24oz's for a pocket carry, compared to my Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite 2" 15oz.

Mine had a heavy SA pull, and a heavier DA pull. The way I looked at it was, what do I need this thing for? Not a good shooter, too ugly for a paper weight, so I sold it.

I think you will find the Taurus connection has had no impact yet on the Rossi product line, only on the website...Which is a blue Taurus site...

Good Luck
