Looks like a good time, we have a few here in Ohio but can't hunt them either. I'm assuming that all waterfowl rules apply when hunting them? (steel shot, 3 shell limit, federal stamp and state license)

Nice. We can shoot them in the far NW corner of Minnesota only although there are thousands all around us in central Minnesota. Thin’em out!
They’re called “rib-eye of the sky” so let us know how they taste.
That’s where our deer camp is. I’m pretty sure I have my uncle talked into some ‘advanced plinking’ one of these days.

Here in Texas, the rules for Sandhill cranes is pretty much the same as other waterfowl. However, they do allow lead shot to be used on Sandhills. We’re all using non-toxic loads, then we can also take geese if we have the opportunity.
