I have a Savage 300 lever action with peep site, serial # 264457. It was given to me in early 1970's by a dentist from Chicago. He said he never fired it and I have not either. Can anyone give me an idea as to when it was manufactured. I have mailed all the data to Savage Historical Department in October of 2019 and no answer.

can't find any data other then Savage .300 on barrel. Your site information notes it was made in 1924. It is a lever action and has what seems to be a rotary clip inside to house shells for firing.
Attached a picture of the rifle.
    Thanks for the information.

Yep sure is. Can't tell exact condition by the pic but hold onto it. Solid built rifles they don't make anymore. Wonder if it is a 99A with that straight grip. Made from 1920-1936. What length is the barrel? Model 99A had a 24 inch barrel.

Glad to be of help. Savage also made take-down models. Great to have a gun of that vintage.
