I got a Saveage 99 lever action in .243 Win for a good price.
I'm new to guns. One guy told me this is a straight shooter, is that right?
What do you think of this cartridge? I won't hunt moose with it, but what about deer?

.243 Win is plenty big for deer. 200 + lb Mule Deer in .243 Win

well i dont have time to post much on any forum but this is where i probably should hang out, the .243 is a great deer rifle , cuts through brush and accurate to 2 or 3 hundred yards with open sights, my advice dont use it over 100 yards, I dont know a lot about ballistics and crap like the other pple here but I know from experiance, its a bit light for any other game, but works well for white tail and mulies, dont take it elk hunting
