Not sure about manufacturing years, but this basic gun has been marketed over many decades, in various models and by several different companies.
I have the Springfield 87A, with nearly identical action.
Good guns when in good condition, but the odd sear system can wear if it gets a lot of abuse. Some have been known to go F/A if worn too much - but repair is easy for any decent gunsmith. Numrich has all the parts.
Love mine - very accurate! Puts my near-new Ruger 10-22 to shame.
