I have seen guns, and injuries that were a result of that. That fellow was lucky.
I have always worked a powder, with very few exceptions, that gives me over half a case full for my load. So if I get a double, it would be obvious with powder spilling out.
Then I check my charges before seating the bullet. Plus work with moderate loads.
Ye it takes time that way, but I do not trust myself. That way worse I get is a hot load.

I had ben well educated by my mentor. And I have always followed his advice pretty much to a tee. gandog56 taught me well. RIP.

I love loading compressed loads.
Especially 9mm. My favorite 9 mm load is basically, fill it up till you can seat the bullet without pushing back out. Ye, I probably loose an moa over a better load, with a powder that may leave some space, but it's all for under 10 yards anyway.
Kinda hard to over charge a shell that's plum full.

I can’t double charge magnum loads 😂 I found one in my block once as I checked things over. It’s a spooky feeling.
