I would like to purchase a 300 win mag semi-auto with 3 bullet clip but I have heard that some states will not allow semi-autos for big game hunting. Anyone who can clarify for me?

What State do you live in?
  4. Just curious . . .

if you have fired a .300 Win Mag? I ask only because
some people make decisions to purchase beyond .30-06
in power without experience. Unfortuantely, I have seen
a number of people in my lifetime find true disappointment
with a major purchase via this route.

    Good luck and good shooting.

Do some home-work. Check your state DNR site.

    clarification of my question

I live in New York but hope to hunt out west as well as Canada for various big game. I was told that PA didn't allow semi-autos but I'm wondering if there are many other states that do not allow them. Any information would be most appreciated.
  7. Because rules change as time moves on . . .

your logical course of action will be to contact the state game and fish where you plan to hunt this fall. It is better to have actual current knowledge than go with what someone "thinks". Same for Canada.

you need to check game laws for wherever you may desire to hunt. some dont allow centerfire rifles, some no semi's, some limit magazine capatiy, others have minimum caliber restrictions etc , etc.
