Shooting Contests

  1. Over in Brazoria County SW of Houston, Texas they used to have some real interesting pistol shooting events.
They'd have all kinda prizes, frozen turkeys, bottles of liquor, a six pack or other stuff. The prize would be hung by a length of twine. You bought a chance to shoot at the twine. If the twine was cut and the prize dropped, onto a cushion, it was your's. You got one shot at a time paying for your turn as your turn came up. The target was usually about 10 yards away. Guns were carry type with no scopes or other special sights.
a lot of Officers/Deputies used to shoot in these deals.

Sounds like a good time. Did you get your choice of ammo?
