Will the 20 round 9mm magazines fit in a standard p226? There isn't anything special, just a longer magazine with a larger finger support, right?

Are these the older traditional hi cap 20 rounders for the stock P226 or the new 20 round SCT mags you speak of?

Either way they should both fit. The old steel ones also known as "SWAT mags" just looked like a longer magazine with no extended base plate for your fingers.

The new SCT 20 round mags have a bigger polymer base plate that fit and look better with the re designed slightly extended SCT or P226 Blackwater edition P226 grips. Basically they have an extended floor plate to make the bottom the same size as the grip in regards to thickness not length. If your running a standard P226 with the normal grip they will still stick out a little and look a bit goofy. But yes you can use either the old SWAT mags or the newer SCT 20 round mags (or the 18 rounder MecGar brand mags for that matter) with your standard P226.

And that is straight from the Sig Sauer Customer Service Rep who i called just to double confirm it before I posted this reply.
