I've used grilled cut chunks of Nathans Famous hotdogs as catfish bait. Those dogs are real greasy when they cool. I'd put them on a hook without a sinker and the cats would gobble them up.

I mostly fish for bass and I think I'm going to try for trout this summer. There's something appealing about sticking my feet in cold mountain creek water when it's so hot out I can barely think. 😁

Yeah. I will cut the tail of my bait chub and the catfish will follow the blood to the bait. They are either smelling it or tasting it.
