What is the best and most accurate way of cleaning the gas port
on a Yugo sks? Any help is appreciated. So far it has not caused any problems but i do not want to stretch myself thin and take it for granted that it will always work when i want it to. I have found this gun to be extremely fun to shoot and very accurate. However, I don't think the guy to the right of me at the range likes it since he was getting hit in the head with spent cartidges.

You can buy a gas port tool to clean it or just keep it brushed out(small wire brush). I don't own a port tool and have never had a gas port clog on my sks's or ak.
A good thing to remember is you should not oil the gas system unless you're planning on long term storage otherwise keep it dry.

Thanks for the info thrawn, I think the tool kit the rifle came with has that brush, wasn't sure what it was for exactly!

That should be your bore brush, if yours came with the cleaning kit it should have a pin punch in it. This will also work on the gas hole.

Yep, the official port tool is simply a punch.
