That would be an interesting little gun, I've thought about that myself. Of course Ruger pushed for restrictions on detachable mags in order to corner the market with a fixed mag Mini. A 223 mini Garand would be cute, but it would defeat the purpose of a Garand.
stainless steel M1 Garand
somebody produce a stainless M1 Garand . Ruger did a mini 14 . AND/OR a mini M1 Garand in say .222 rem. or .223/5.56 with small n-block clips that hold 8 -10 rds ??????????

I agree , it would defeat the purpose, but it would serve as a good training tool for young shooters . and of course, any excuse to get another one !
