I do need to sit down & take all-new pics of the whole thing...
as there have been a few additions and mods done...
But here's the current list of Modern Stars that I own.

    Model 45 Firestar in .45acp
    Model 205 Ultrastar in 9mm & .40-S&W
Model 243 Firestar Plus in 9mm

Had a Model 43 in 9mm, but it was just too tiny
and really didn't fit well in my giant LURCH hands...
so I sold it and bought the M243, which fits much better
due to it being a double-stack design :)

The M45 is also a MUCH better fit with it's slightly larger frame,
due to being a .45acp offering...its also danged precise
for a teeny little CC pistol :)

The Ultrastars...I've fired my .40, just picked up the 9mm
version this week, so it & the M243 will go to the range soon.
    The .40S&W version shoots like its a large-frame .32acp,
meaning it soaks .40 recoil so well it's like not shooting .40 at all.
    These were seriously under-rated pistols...
and someone oughta make a copy...

    I've got lines on a M30 & a Megastar in .45acp,
but since the wife is up for some surgery,
those will wait until next year...

Bought a Star model BM 9mm once. Didn't take me long to realize why it was only 250 bucks. Dang thing wouldn't even feed ball ammo worth a crap. Sold it to the first sucker I found.

Likely all that needed was a chamber polish,
as most of them sat for years uncleaned,
then were sold at outlets that didn't clean them...
so there would be the inevitable crud that grows
when things sit after being fired...
A quick Fluff & Buff usually returns them to full-duty
    status :)

Most of the Letter models B, BS, BM, etc...
were made from 1932 to 1992, many during WW2,
so one does have to take age into consideration,
and treat them as any other old pistol that needs
a little love before proper operation can be achieved.

    The modern Number models
    (40, 43, 45, 30, 31, 205, etc...)
    were all produced from 1984 - 1998.
I'm still finding many in pristine condition,
still in box and unfired since final Quality testing.
And even more that have been heavily used,
and in need of a fluff & buff.

When it comes to used Stars, luck is as much
a part of what happens next, as is the level
of gun-smithery that the owner can manage.

Nope. Bought it new in the box in '89.

That is very unusual...NIB's usually perform very well.

Only Star I have is a Model S in .380 ACP. Nice pistol. My autistic son's late surrogate grandfather who died last year at the age of 97 was very fond of it; he liked the way it fitted his hand.

Got another M45 a few weekends ago,
this one blued and in need of serious
reblue or Cerakote, going with Cerakote.
Gota thread on it in the handguns section.
