Star model B super firing pin

Discussion in 'The Powder Keg' started by 8mm Vigilante, Jul 19, 2002.

  1. i have a model B super with a broken firing pin, my question is, which way do i drift out the pin? from the top or the bottom?

The pin comes out easily. It is held in place by a fat pin (plunger?). To remove the pin, you have to take the rear sight off. Then push the pin up. the firing pin should then come out easily.

  3. I've tried for about an hour to get the pin out, it refuses to budge
i don't want to hammer on it so hard as to break some thing important, what do i do??
    thanks for your help Klaus

Thank you Klaus for your help, i finally got it out, there was tons and tons of carbon build up and gummed up oil in there.
Also the key to the problem was the loaded chamber indicator has to be moved forward in order to allow the pin to move out of the top.

Sorry, forgot about moving the indicator. Was going by memory. At least I remembered the rear sight.
  5. Hey Klaus, you wouldn't happen to know of any place that sells firing pins do you? numrich doesn't seem to have them, most of their stuff for Stars is dor the Mod. A.
