But steel band wrapped....the real thing? Worth $250?

"Converted at an unknown time, approximately in the mid-1950's at Ishapore from a 1942 Ishapore SMLE MkIII*. The piece is all matching and is unusual as it has the sheet metal re-inforcing straps rather than the copper wire. It is import marked. It is in overall very good minus condition with very good minus wood, good plus metal, and good bore (with mild salt and pepper). The rifle is marked "GF" for grenade firing on the receiver and barrel. Over 150,000 GF rifles were converted at Ishapore with the majority of them being the wire wrapped type. The steel strap is far less common."
