Got this at a tag sale for $10.00. Did I do good?
where's the handle?
Wow LHS, a $10.00 project is always okay in my book, even if it never comes to fruition. I've wasted a $10 spot on lots of frivolous stuff and yours might even be a success at some point.
No handle. What you see is what I got.
Only thing is, I already have a nice RCBS Turret press.
You done great Mark. Good to see you back.
Any idea of the value? Going to sell it I think.
Wow, I had a set of Pacific .270 dies once, but they got all rusty and corroded, there was no saving them.
WELCOME BACK MARK!!! Sure is nice to have you return!
Started out on a Pacific back in the '60's, but that model was blue. A few years ago, I got my hands on a Herter's Rifleman press. That thing is massive compared to the Pacific.
Will the ram move, or is it rusted in place??
It looks like it's going to take a lot of Liquid Wrench, plus a cam coupling and a handle, to move it.
Got these today at a
Another tag sale.
Don't even have a gun that caliber.
se work well in my Nagant revolver. I load to 1,000FPS, and it fires with authority, and no pressure signs. Makes this quaint revolver a viable defensive pistol.
Yes. Lets go to PM.
How much are you asking? Those go very nicely in a 327 Federal Magnum.
32's are not available anymore. All I need to do is find a value on the press and I can get it listed to sell.
The problem that you are going to run into is that Pacific single stage presses in complete working order aren't very expensive. If you can find a cam and handle for it, spray it down so it looks clean, you'll do much better. If you can get the cam and handle for cheap you might make some money on the deal.
Hornady completely merged with Pacific in the 80's and everything was rebranded with the Hornady name. They might still have the parts to make that press whole. Otherwise it's eBay or a machinist. Nothing about that cam system is magical, it can be built by someone with the tools to do so.
I might be wrong though, you may find someone who wants a project to buy it from you right away. Good luck.
