  1. I saw your pics of the Danish beech stock last week. As I said then , it inspired me to put some time into my beech butt stock, birch upper and walnut lower hand guard. All three looked sad together. I steamed, filled and sanded for a couple days and followed your advise about the Friebings leather dye. I stained some peices more than others in order to get some sort of match.
    They ended up very dark, but they match very well. I finished with tung oil with one coat of tru-oil near the begining. The stocks look great ...much too nice for a $250. C.A.I. I haven't shot it yet. I intend to go Sunday and see how my HRA's like a little competition.
