A police officer in Indiana — in an op-ed — attempts to point out the difficulty of banning firearms. I’ll give him some credit for that but he could use some instruction on the issue when he writes: "There are billions of guns in the United States. Should a law be passed similar to the Prohibition law of the 1920s and 1930s prohibiting the making and possession of guns? This would only increase the demand for guns. Criminals would sell guns at outrageous prices and people would pay those prices for their own protection as well as selling to the criminals. People who go through the legal procedures to obtain a gun permit very seldom violate laws. I do agree, however, we need to stop the import of dangerous AK-15 foreign weapons and the likes of those" There's no such thing as an AK-15, of course, so I decided to create one. Or is it an AR-47? Oh well, just imagine his reaction when he finds out that AK-47s are already illegal to import, and have been since 1986.
