I've used these hunting groundhogs, skunks, and other varmints. I've also used mini-mags. My MP-15/22s seem to really like CCI stuff.
I've found the velocitiors personally less accurate than the mini-mags. But accurate enough. YMMV.
.22s are surprisingly effective killers when shots are placed well. I would NOT count on them to stop something that can hurt me back in that, while I know it's likely to kill whatever, if the whatever is dangerous it might be able to hurt or kill me in the mean time while it's in the process of getting killed.
.22s penetrate surprisingly well, bounce around once they hit something, and I've had powerful few varmints make it very far after taking a hit or two or three.
